USS Gridley (DDG-101)-- Part 1

BUILDER:  Bath Iron Works, Bath Maine

LAUNCHED:  December 28, 2005

HOMEPORT:  Everett, Washington

DISPLACEMENT:   Approximately 9,200 tons full load

LENGTH:   508.5 feet

BEAM:  67 feet

DRAFT:  30.5 feet

This ship is of particular interest to me because it was named after a naval officer, Charles V. Gridley,  I've written a lot about in this blog and in my Running the Blockade: Civil War Navy blog.
