This grew out of my Down Da Road I Go Blog which now has become primarily what I'm doing and music. I was getting so much history in it, I spun this one off and now have World War II and War of 1812 blogs which came off this one. The Blog List below right has all the way too many blogs that I write.

What Happened to Chicago's Farragut Boat Club?
A couple days ago, I wrote about softball being first played at the Farragut Boat Club in Chicago. I've never heard of the club or building so looked it up. //// From answer.com. //// The Farragut Boat Club was located at 3016-3018 Lake Park Avenue. //// The site is now on the grounds of Michael Reese Hospital (now closed) on the Near South Side. The clubhouse was demolished around 1952. There is a monument on the site from a softball federation and a plaque describes what happened there in 1887. //// Now You Know. --Cooter
