This grew out of my Down Da Road I Go Blog which now has become primarily what I'm doing and music. I was getting so much history in it, I spun this one off and now have World War II and War of 1812 blogs which came off this one. The Blog List below right has all the way too many blogs that I write.

Of interest, here are the 1918 season final standings for the National and American Leagues. I also found the team names of interest.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
1. Chicago Cubs
2. New York Giants
3. Cincinnati Reds
4. Pittsburgh Pirates
5. Brooklyn Robins
6. Philadelphia Phillies
7. Boston Braves
8. St. Louis Cardinals
AMERICAN LEAGUE
1. Boston Red Sox
2. Cleveland Indians
3. Washington Senators
4. New York Yankees
5. St. Louis Browns
6. Chicago White Sox

How about that, the Chicago Cubs in a World Series. They were also in a World Series in the last year of World War II.
