I was getting so much history in it, I spun this one off and now have World War II and War of 1812 blogs which came off this one. Catch Hank Gowdy of the Boston Braves becomes the first major league player to enter military service in World War I.
Eight Major League Players Died during the war.
A total of 250 Major League Baseball players served in the military during the war.
