This is also where George supposedly skipped the silver dollar across the river. I have my wonders about throwing a silver dollar away like that, even today. Money was worth much more back then. In the 1960s, a home for troubled Virginia boys was built on the site. Ferry Farm was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2000.
